Lucknow: A crucial review meeting on the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) was convened today under the chairmanship of Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant at the Commissioner’s Office. The meeting focused on clearing pending cases, improving the quality of grievance disposal, and ensuring timely action across all districts of the division.
Additional Commissioner (Administration) Radheshyam, Additional Commissioner (Judicial) Rakesh Patel, and officials from all concerned departments of the division were present.
Commissioner Pant emphasised several key points during the review:
1. Fast Disposal of Pending Cases
He directed all districts to immediately resolve cases pending beyond the stipulated timelines and ensure no file remains unattended.
2. Focus on Quality-Based Redressal
The Commissioner stressed that grievances must not be closed merely for formality. Instead, departments must ensure effective and qualitative solutions so that complainants are genuinely satisfied.
3. Strengthening the Feedback System
Reviewing district-wise feedback, he instructed departments to consistently work towards improving satisfaction levels by engaging more actively with complainants.

4. Warning of Strict Action for Negligence
Commissioner Pant made it clear that delays or carelessness in grievance disposal would not be tolerated, and accountability of concerned officers would be fixed wherever lapses are detected.
5. Surprise Inspections and Monitoring
He also directed officers to ensure regular monitoring and inspections at the tehsil level to enhance efficiency at the grassroots.
During the meeting, it came to light that the District Commandant of Hardoi had shown little interest in resolving IGRS cases. Taking serious note of this, the Commissioner ordered the issuance of a show-cause notice against the official for laxity. He further reiterated that lack of quality in IGRS case disposal would lead to strict accountability.
Commissioner Pant said that IGRS is a crucial platform for prompt public grievance redressal, and strengthening its functioning remains a top administrative priority. He instructed all officers to work with full commitment, sensitivity, and transparency to ensure timely and effective resolution of public complaints.
